ARTIST  BIO

Abel Reynoso was just as comfortable with a gun and a badge as he is with a paintbrush. With more than 40 years in law enforcement, he worked with and trained many specialized police and military units. Over his career, he gained a wide range of experience. As an artist, he focuses on police and military themes. His work appears in books, magazines, and periodicals. Abel's art is featured in many police and military TV shows and movies. Several of his murals, paintings, and lithographs can be seen at locations such as the Los Angeles Police Department and the FBI Academy. His prints are also displayed in federal buildings, police departments, and embassies around the world.
Abel discovered his love for art as a child and kept it alive throughout his life. He never had formal art training, but he taught himself by studying the works of famous artists from Europe and Latin America. After college, he joined the Los Angeles Police Department and later became a special agent with the federal government. Even while working, he kept painting, blending his artistic skills with his law enforcement experience to create a unique style. The LAPD commissioned his first painting for the 1984 Olympic Games. Since then, Abel has made art for many federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Some of his top clients include the FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, ICE, CBP, DHS, the LAPD, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
